Couples Therapy

When love becomes survival, not sanctuary, I’m here to help you both come home.

Couples face many pressures—life transitions, parenting, wounds passed down through generations. What began as an expression of care can easily become a battlefield of expectations, unmet needs, or silent resentment. My couples therapy blends psychodynamic listening, emotionally attuned connection, and parts work to help you heal not just your relationship—but the inner wounds you each bring to it.

How we work:

Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)

Relationships thrive on emotional safety. Together, we’ll gently slow down cycles of disconnection—whether it's withdrawal, criticism, blame, or freeze—and teach your systems to lean into vulnerability again.

Psychodynamic Exploration

We all carry emotional inheritances from childhood into adulthood… unspoken needs, old roles, split-off parts. In our sessions, we’ll invite curiosity to understand those internal dynamics, rather than blame or shame.

Parts Work & IFS

Beneath reactive behavior, there are parts operating under fear—perhaps the people-pleaser, the protector, or the wounded child. By learning to tune into those parts and their needs, we create a foundation of mutual compassion and healing.

Practical Skills + Emotional Experiments

Therapy shouldn’t stay in the session. We’ll practice new relational skills—like asking for support, expressing needs, softening toward each other, or finding empathy even in conflict—then explore together how they land in real life.

What This Can Look Like

  • Rediscovering emotional safety when one or both of you felt unseen, dismissed, or overwhelmed.

  • Tuning into unmet needs from childhood that are now reverberating in your conflicts.

  • Learning to hold the parts of yourselves that feel reactive, vulnerable, or afraid—so they don’t take over the dynamic.

  • Reclaiming intimacy, playfulness, permission, and authentic mutual care you may have lost along the way.
